Aeromexico’s passengers will enjoy connections to 15 destinations in Italy. Meanwhile, ITA Airways customers will have access to 28 destinations in Mexico.
ROME / MEXICO CITY – The flagship airlines of Mexico and Italy celebrate a codeshare agreement, allowing customers of both airlines to enjoy even broader connectivity and benefits between both countries as of March 10. Thus, all customers traveling with Aeromexico on the Mexico City – Rome route will be able to connect, via Rome Fiumicino International Airport (FCO), to 15 destinations in Italy. ITA Airways passengers, instead, will have access to 28 destinations operated by Aeromexico from the Mexico City International Airport (MEX).
Through this agreement, customers will be able to travel using a single ticket, checking baggage from origin to destination to cities such as Milan, Genoa, Florence, Naples, and Turin, among others, as well as to Cancun, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Puerto Vallarta, and Merida.
Both airlines will allow their customers to enjoy the benefits of their loyalty programs, such as the accrual and soon redemption of points on flights operated by ITA Airways and Aeromexico, in addition to those they already offer as members of SkyTeam for Elite and Elite Plus customers.
Top Tier Platino and Titanio members of Aeromexico Rewards can also enjoy access to ITA Airways lounges in Italy, check an additional bag free of charge at preferential counters, and priority boarding, among others.
Likewise, Club Premium and Club Executive from Volare, the ITA Airways loyalty program, will be able to enjoy the same benefits and have access to the Salones Premier of Aeromexico in Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Torreon, and Chihuahua.
For the non-stop route between Mexico City and Rome, Aeromexico will continue using the best of its long-haul fleet, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, one of the most comfortable, efficient, modern, and eco-friendly aircraft. Since entering service, the Dreamliner fleet has avoided nearly 160 billion pounds of CO2 emissions, and thanks to the innovative composition of their engines, they can reduce noise during takeoff and landing by 60%. ITA Airways’ fleet currently features 83 Airbus aircraft, including 40 of the latest generation. These are aircraft of the Airbus A320neo family as well as the A220-300, A220-100, A330-900, and A350-900.
Thanks to the new partnership with Aeromexico, the company has 36 codeshare agreements, established in just over two years since the start of its operations.
