Finnair will increase its long-haul community with new flights from Helsinki to Melbourne by way of Bangkok from October 2026.

The flight, operated on an Airbus A350 plane, will join Australia on to Finnair’s intensive community by way of its Helsinki hub.

“We’re very excited to introduce service to a brand new continent. By connecting Helsinki and Melbourne, two cities on reverse sides of the world, we will provide a really distinctive bridge between the northern and southern hemispheres,” Finnair Chief Income Officer, Christine Rovelli stated.

The flight will depart Helsinki after midnight, arriving in Bangkok within the afternoon for a stop-over earlier than persevering with to Melbourne arriving the next morning. Return flights depart Melbourne within the afternoon, arriving in Helsinki early the subsequent day aligning with Finnair’s first morning flights throughout Europe.
