Aviation Supplies & Academics (ASA) has released “Getting Started with Drones and Model Airplanes,” by Patrick Sherman.
Written for a beginning remote pilot, the new book will help readers understand how drones and model airplanes work and how to fly them safely.
Explaining complex subjects in simple language with pictures and diagrams that make them easy to understand, Sherman offers guidance on buying a drone or model airplane, registering an aircraft with the FAA, completing the testing and certification process, and learning how to safely operate aircraft in and around the busiest and most complex airspace in the world, ASA officials said.
Other topics covered in the book include the fundamental principles of aerodynamics, drone and model airplane maneuvers, techniques for planning flights, parts and systems identification, and rules that apply to flying for fun versus flying to make money.
The book is available in either softcover or eBook for $29.95.
