If your idea of a Halloween pop up has more booze than “boo!”, then Philly’s scary seasonal drinking scene has you covered.
Each year, Philly’s restaurants and bars lean in (ghoulishly hard) during Halloween, devising lovingly ghastly themed drinks and decking out their spaces with skeletons, ghosts and so, so many fake spider webs.
For 2023, spooky favs like Craftsman Row Saloon and Nightmare Before Tinsel return with Halloween-appropriate offerings (a cocktail inside a real pumpkin, anyone?), while Uptown Beer Garden goes to The Upside Down with its Stranger Things-themed iteration across from LOVE Park. (And yes, there are Demogorgons.)
Also up this year: an Edgar Allan Poe-themed pop up that combines drinks with live performances, a “spook-easy” on a historic boat at the Independence Seaport Museum and exclusive craft cocktails at Philadelphia Distilling’s pop-up bar.
