France: Lifestyle hotel brand Mama Shelter will open a property in Nice this June 2024, located in the Riquier district of the city.
Marking the eleventh property located in France for the group and eighteenth overall, Mama Shelter Nice is housed across three buildings with a preserved facade.
Architect Benjamin El Doghaïli, head of the Mama Shelter design studio, led the project with support from artists such as Kate Mary, Lola Mercier and Beniloys.
The hotel will offer 102 rooms, a ground floor restaurant serving Mediterranean cuisine, a rooftop bar with a pizza oven and pool, as well as meeting and event space,
Cédric Gobilliard, CEO Europe at Ennismore, overseeing the Mama Shelter brand, said: “Nice and its neighbourhoods are ever-evolving, and are attracting young people and families more than ever. Our latest addition in France will settle in this welcoming city where conviviality and creativity reign. Within its walls, [the hotel] will tell both the ancient and contemporary story of the city – an inspiring story rich in flavours, maritime essence and artistry.”
Serge Trigano, along with his sons Jérémie and Benjamin, said: “Since its creation 15 years ago, Mama Shelter draws its roots from its openness to others, its generosity, its desire for sharing and celebrations, its spirit on the shores of the Mediterranean. It was only natural that one day Mama would land in Nice.
“Mama Shelter Nice is both a refuge for happy vacationers and passing nomads delighted to savour the sweetness and art of living in this beautiful city. But it is also Mama for the people of Nice invited from morning to night and from night to morning for a drink, a coffee, a brunch, lunch or dinner. Welcoming the residents of cities where Mama settles is one of its reasons for being; it’s the foundation of its philosophy.”
