NITA celebrates newest graduates and largest-ever consumption

Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia has celebrated the commencement of 28 younger Indigenous Australians from the Nationwide Indigenous Coaching Academy (NITA) at Ayers Rock Resort, taking the whole variety of graduates to 772 since NITA’s inception.

All graduates obtained Certificates III {qualifications} in Hospitality, equipping them with nationally recognised expertise and hands-on expertise at considered one of Australia’s most iconic tourism locations.

The occasion featured a keynote handle from Her Excellency the Governor-Common of Australia and a particular efficiency by Indigenous singer-songwriter Budjerah, with Justin Mohamed, Australia’s inaugural Ambassador for First Nations Individuals and Shadow Minister for Indigenous Australians, Senator Kerryn Liddle, among the many VIPs in attendance.

“These younger trainees and graduates symbolize the way forward for Indigenous tourism in Australia,” mentioned Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia CEO, Matt Cameron-Smith.

The celebration follows the latest commencement of three NITA college students at Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre on October 18.

Voyages additionally welcomed 27 new trainees this month – the most important new consumption but – together with three Aṉangu college students collaborating in a brand-new Certificates III in Tourism program.

Co-designed with Anangu (Uluru’s Conventional Homeowners) and delivered in partnership with Careers Coaching Centre, this system goals to develop the longer term technology of Anangu tour guides, supporting cultural storytelling on Nation.

“We’re particularly proud to welcome a brand new consumption of Aṉangu college students into our newly launched Certificates III in Tourism program – co-designed with neighborhood to create significant employment pathways on Nation,” Cameron-Smith added.

“This marks an thrilling new chapter for NITA and for the way forward for tourism within the area.”
