Taking things up a notch
Frequent flyers will notice the change when they take seats in Singapore Airlines’ premium economy cabin, starting with the champagne. Customers are now served a glass of Charles de Cazanove Brut Tradition NV shortly after getting airborne. While enjoying their champagne, customers can peruse their hard copy menu for meal, snack, and beverage options.

The meals are now served in contemporary stoneware glazed porcelain service ware, custom-made for premium economy. Customers will receive an all-new Out of the Woods amenity kit designed exclusively for premium class if the flight is at least seven hours long.
Mr Yeoh Phee Teik, Senior Vice President of Customer Experience at Singapore Airlines (SIA), spoke about the revamp:
“Since its introduction in 2015, Premium Economy Class has become popular with our customers. They appreciate the added amenities, heightened comfort, and the extra personal space it offers, all at an excellent value… We regularly gather customer feedback and conduct market research, learn more about the evolving value drivers for travelers, and find innovative ways to continue delivering a personalized and world-class in-flight experience. Based on these insights, we have undertaken this comprehensive revamp of our Premium Economy Class in-flight offerings, which we believe will delight our customers.”
It is the first time the cabin’s options are being revamped since its introduction in 2015, giving new customers an experience to remember and frequent flyers a reason to keep booking tickets.
The meals
The airline has developed over 200 new items for the revamp. The in-flight meals include a seasonal appetizer, main course, bread, dessert, and cheese and cracks. Even the bread basket has been upgraded, with customers having the option of garlic bread rolls and croissants for lunch and breakfast, respectively.

The highlights among the plethora of main courses include Beef Bourguignon served with bacon, mushrooms, vegetables, and potato gratin, Bak Chor Mee (minced pork noodles), and Thai-style Crab Curry served with a combination of jasmine rice and brown rice, and seasonal vegetables with egg.
Customers can also choose from a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. In addition to the champagne, customers can also choose between the 2023 Wairau River Sauvignon Blanc and the 2022 St Hallett Faith Shiraz. For customers who prefer cocktails and spirits, a selection of whiskey, gin, vodka, signature cocktails, and various beers are available.
New amenity kit
SIA has partnered with Out of the Woods, a US-based eco-friendly and sustainable lifestyle product manufacturer, to produce an exclusive kit for premium economy class customers. Every item in the kit is either recycled or sourced in an eco-friendly manner.
