Welcome to spring in Philly, the first full month of the season where outdoor events, activities, festivals and dining finally come to life after a long winter. And with warm weather comes plenty of reasons to head outside and enjoy spring.
It’s the perfect time to visit the region’s plethora of botanic gardens and arboreta, many celebrating the beginning of flowering season and highlighted by Spring Blooms at Longwood Gardens. It’s also time to hit area hiking, biking and running trails without a winter coat.
Outdoor season also means the start of food festival season, with plenty of April options to choose from, including the Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival, Food Truck Frenzy at Linvilla Orchards and East Passyunk’s Flavors On The Avenue. Or finally enjoy some outdoor dining at streeteries and patios during popular citywide restaurant collabs Dining Out For Life and Dine Latino Restaurant Week.
And April is also a month for big annual events, so mark your calendars for the return of the Penn Relays, the Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival and Decibel Magazine Metal & Beer Fest. But the biggest celebration might be WrestleMania 40 with 200,000 of your closest friends at Lincoln Financial Field.
