UK: Ahead of the opening of The Chancery Rosewood in London, Michael Bonsor has been appointed to lead the launch and operations of the luxury hotel as managing director.
Bonsor has been with Rosewood Hotels & Resorts for 10 years, beginning his career with the brand as hotel manager of Rosewood London. In 2017 he was promoted to managing director of the property.
Prior to joining Rosewood, Bonsor held several positions at Claridge’s. Early on in his career, Bonsor also spent 10 years in America working under Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts in Boston, Toronto and New York.
The Chancery Rosewood, the company’s second site in the city, is expected to open in Mayfair 2025. It is housed in the former US Embassy on Grosvenor Square and is being developed by Qatari Diar Europe LLP.
With interior design led by Joseph Dirand, the hotel will offer 144 guestrooms and suites alongside dining venues, retail concepts, meeting and event spaces, and Rosewood’s spa Asaya.
“Michael is an invaluable member of the Rosewood team,” said Victor Clavell, senior Vice President of operations EMEAC, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts. “Since joining us in 2013, he has been instrumental in realising the vision and potential of the brand in London and Europe at large. We are thrilled to recognise Michael for his many achievements and name him managing director of The Chancery Rosewood, which is posted to provide a next-generation luxury lifestyle experience in the heart of the city.”
