View Melbourne is tapping into Australians’ growing interest in gaming with the launch of a specially designed Gaming Room, in collaboration with computer hardware company MSI.
Sleeping up to four guests, the View Melbourne Gaming Room is kitted out with state-of-the-art equipment and includes an in-room popcorn maker offering a bottomless supply of complimentary popcorn, a drinks trolley complete with a selection of energy drinks, as well as a minibar stocked with beer, wine, spirits and soft drinks for purchase.
View Melbourne Sales and Marketing Director Danielle Hatch said with so many Australians now gaming regularly, the team identified a gap in the Melbourne market.
“We were looking to create a unique offering at View Melbourne and had been toying with the idea of a gaming suite for some time,” Hatch said.
“It’s something that’s not been done here in Melbourne, and incidentally this is also where there are a lot of international gaming events and conferences.
“We also learnt that a whopping 81% of Aussies are gamers, so with that in mind, we asked our friends at MSI if they would be interested in collaborating with us to create something totally unique in the city.”
The 35sqm space features a high-quality gaming setup with MSI chair, two MSI MEG Trident computers, two 27-inch 170Hz MSI Esports gaming monitors, as well as streaming gear supplied by MSI and Elgato.
All major current titles across both PC and Nintendo Switch are available to play and View Melbourne says the games selection will be updated continuously as new titles launch.
“The gaming menu includes all the biggest names in terms of games across both PC and Nintendo and the gaming equipment is top of the line,” said Hatch.
“The suite is in collaboration with MSI so is the highest quality on the market. We’ve also ensured the internet connection is ultra-fast so it all runs smoothly for our gamers.”
The hotel has had a lot of interest in the new gaming room in the few weeks that it has been open.
“The feedback has been great,” Hatch said.
“We’ve had some families through that have had a great time with the kids playing Nintendo on the fold out bed with the popcorn maker going.
“It’s always nerve-wracking doing something new, and this is a totally new concept for Melbourne, so a relief that it’s been received so well.”
